Our Cadillac Depreciation Analysis and Recommendations

Cadillac value retention ratings vary considerably, depending on what time period you're reviewing. Within the 13 luxury brands which we review, Cadillac has been ranked as high as 3rd at year 3, and as low as 10th at year 5. Cadillac's flagship, the Escalade, fares reasonably well, although the standard length version seems to beat out the ESV for retaining its value-it's probably because the ESVs have 11 kids and 4 dogs in them at all times.

The 2018, 2017 & 2014 Cadillac model years are currently the best values in our opinion.

On average, expect to pay only 64% of the original cost with 83% of the vehicle's lifetime remaining for a 2018 Cadillac. That gives it a Net Used Value® score of 19.78 which factors in annual maintenance costs, price decline, reliable years left and available inventory.

Also consider the 2017 & 2014 model years. Those currently have a generally low risk of any significant depreciation over the next several years.

While we would advise holding onto this vehicle for a few years, that's not always the plan. Dealers have access to similar figures so they know that your vehicle has a low risk of depreciation.
