Our Lexus Depreciation Analysis and Recommendations

Lexus is simply the personification of high resale value-Lexus models just don't depreciate at a rate like all the rest. Among the luxury brands, Lexus is ranked #1 at 3 years, and 5 years, but slips to second behind Tesla at 7 years. The lineup of the top luxury models for value retention reads like a who's who among Lexus' fleet, with the RX350 (#1), GS 350 (#3), IS350 (#4), ES350 (#7), LX570 (#8), and ES300h (#10) all finishing in the Top 10 of all luxury models. If you want to buy a new car that will hold its value, buy a Lexus. The tag-team of Toyota, and it's upscale nameplate, Lexus, definitely rule the roost when it comes to retaining value for their owners.

The 2018, 2017 & 2016 Lexus model years are currently the best values in our opinion.

On average, expect to pay only 73% of the original cost with 83% of the vehicle's lifetime remaining for a 2018 Lexus. That gives it a Net Used Value® score of 9.91 which factors in annual maintenance costs, price decline, reliable years left and available inventory.

Also consider the 2017 & 2016 model years. Those currently have a generally low risk of any significant depreciation over the next several years.

While we would advise holding onto this vehicle for a few years, that's not always the plan. Dealers have access to similar figures so they know that your vehicle has a low risk of depreciation.
