Our Porsche Cayenne Depreciation Analysis and Recommendations

Porsche's foray into the SUV market has worked out quite well, and they sell a ton of Cayennes. Their values, however, don't hold up nearly as well as their 911s. While the Cayennes are well-built and seem to last forever, they will lose a lot of value up front. So, if you can, buy one that is 3 years old or older when one comes off lease. If you play your cards right, you can find one still under warranty, and maybe even a CPO, which will extend the warranty further.

The 2017, 2018 & 2016 Porsche Cayenne model years are currently the best values.

On average, expect to pay only 52% of the original cost with 75% of the vehicle's lifetime remaining for a 2017 Cayenne. That gives it a Net Used Value® score of 23.08 which factors in annual maintenance costs, price decline, reliable years left and available inventory.

Also consider the 2018 & 2016 Cayenne model years. Those currently have a generally low risk of any significant depreciation over the next several years.

While we would advise holding onto this vehicle for a few years, that's not always the plan. Dealers have access to similar figures so they know that your vehicle has a low risk of depreciation.
